What Would You Do?

It was a rather quiet afternoon in the office yesterday. So I decided to log in to the chat room as it has been a long time since I last logged in. Not surprisingly, there were quite a few people online but it is always silent in the main room.

Anyway, a private chat window pop up with a casual "hello". Exchanged the usual greetings and introductions before I checked out the photo and profile. It was my friend's boyfriend. Was kinda of surprised to see him in the chat room as he says he doesn't chat online. Anyway, what really shocked me was the next line. Before I could say "hi", its me...he typed "wanna have some chem fun?" That line kinda left me speechless...didn't know what to say. So I said goodbye and logged out.

Ok...here's a short story. They have been together for 6 years now. And my friend has always had suspicions about his BF playing around when he was out of the country. We always tell him that he is imagining things and should trust his BF. Maybe he wasn't imagining things after all.

So, if you found out a friend's BF is playing around, would you tell him? or would you just keep silent?

Horrible...

Just came back from a workout at Cal Fit Mid Valley. This is the first time I went since joining the centre 2 weeks ago. And boy, that place is in serious need of new equipment. Most of the equipment are from Sweat Club days and they are in such a sorry condition. Furthermore they need more weight machines in the free weights area. One Nautilus smith machine ain't gonna cut it babe...geez.

And the shower cubicles...there are tiny! I find it such a tight fit even with my medium frame. I cannot imagine someone with a large or extra large frame having a shower without coming out with bruised knees and elbows. What were they thinking when they built it??

Guess it is Cal Fit Stan Chart from now on...

Spoilt For Choice

For the last few days of last week, I have been spending my lunch hour with a colleague visiting the many fitness centres in KL. Ever since I told him I joined Cal Fit, he wants to join a gym too. Not sure why...maybe it has to do with the fact he is getting married next year, so he needs (hmm..think it more like wants) to look good.

Looking back, KL has certainly come a long way in terms of fitness centres from the good old days when they were called gyms which used to be in a small shop lot above Kedai Kopi Eighty Eight. Small, dingy looking places where guys grunt away, lifting weights with the smell of char kuey teow floating in from downstairs. There are a few surviving ones and slowly but surely following the footsteps of the dinosaur.

Nowadays KL-lites are certainly spoilt for choice when it comes to fitness centres. Each of them trying to woo members with claims of having the latest machines, better facilities and the most affordable membership packages. But after visiting most of the fitness centres in KL, I have concluded most of them offer the same facilities. The compelling factor which swings people would be the membership packages. From low monthly subs to pay one year get one year free. Aren't we spoilt for choice?

And fitness centres now offer much more. Not only can they work out, there are also a plethora of classes from bodypump to yoga to pilates and the firm favourite among the family, step class. It is in this class where the guys outnumber the gals and outperform as well.

But that is another story, eh?.. :-)

Very Different

Followed a friend to California Fitness last weekend as he had a a 10-day pass for me. It was given to members to give to their friends inconjunction with Cal Fit's 10th Anniversary.

It was a bright Saturday afternoon when I stepped in to Cal Fit at Menara Standard Chartered and my, was I..err..amazed?..surprised?..shocked? Don't really know which word to use. It was certainly very different from Clark Hatch where I have been working out for the last 8 months. Firstly, it was the sheer amount of people at the gym. In CH, at off peak hours, you would probably have 5-8 people working out and at peak hours, it would be no more than 30 people. But at CF, it was like Puduraya!

Secondly, it was the amount of "happy" people which got my attention. It seems that 8 out of 10 guys there are from the "happy" family. If you are wondering what "happy" people means...think of another word for happy... :-) They are walking around in the locker room with the towel hanging as low as possible...checking out every guy that walks in. I must admit it was quite intimidating and scary.

Nevertheless, the amount people there...sad or happy...gave the gym, life! It was buzzing with activity, drawing you in and encapsulating you in their world. It was fun and enjoyable working out at CF.

And by Saturday evening...I walked out of Cal Fit...a member. So good bye Clark Hatch and thanks for the great months of helping me workout.

It's Been A While..

Logged in to my blog and realised it has been a while since I last posted an entry. Time passes really fast..so fast, you sometimes wonder what you have done in that time. Sometimes I just sit and think or wonder what I was doing at this time, one year ago. And I can honestly say I do not remember. But how many of you do remember?

I guess that is why many people like to take photographs or keep blogs. It's a way of remembering what we have done, the friends we have made, the places we have been and the list goes on.

Anyway, let's see what I have done since the last post...

1. Busy with new projects...We recently got a project to handle 15 parties at selected locations for 3 months from September onwards. Developing concepts for the parties was challenging but nevertheless much fun.

2. Busy dating...Enough said.

3. Busy with website...Not mine but the company. Doing maintenance work...changing the profile, updating new photographs and so on.

4. Busy planning holiday...We are taking out first trip together...going to Bangkok in October. Should be fun... :-)

5. Busy with new company...Management decided to set up a new company for a new business venture. But before we do, we need to test the market and see the response to what we want to do. So far so good...fingers crossed.

6. Busy with recruitment...Finding good people these days is hard. From experience, what they are able to do is vastly different from what they state in their resume. If you have friends who is looking for a job in sales in the event or advertising industry, drop me note.

Hmmm...I wonder what else? If only I can remember...
